Open WebUI Integration

Connect Open WebUI to Antbase for a self-hosted ChatGPT alternative with intelligent model routing. All Antbase virtual models appear in the model selector, and every conversation gets automatic failover across 30+ providers.

What this enables

  • Full ChatGPT-like UI with Antbase as the backend
  • All virtual models available in the model dropdown
  • Multi-user support with shared Antbase credentials
  • Conversation history, file uploads, and web search built in

Quick Start

1. Run Open WebUI with Docker

docker run -d \
  -p 3000:8080 \
  -e OPENAI_API_BASE_URLS="https://antbase.ai/v1" \
  -e OPENAI_API_KEYS="your-ant-api-key" \
  -v open-webui:/app/backend/data \
  --name open-webui \
  ghcr.io/open-webui/open-webui:main

2. Open the UI

Navigate to http://localhost:3000 and create an admin account. All Antbase models will appear in the model selector automatically.

Ready to chat

Select ant:auto from the model dropdown and start chatting.

Troubleshooting

No models showing up

Click the refresh icon next to the OpenAI connection in admin settings. Verify the URL includes /v1 at the end.

Connection refused in Docker

If running Antbase locally, use host.docker.internal instead of localhost in the base URL.
