Antbase/Documentation

Cline Integration

Configure Cline (VS Code autonomous coding agent) to use Antbase. Cline can create files, run terminal commands, and make multi-file edits autonomously -- all powered by Antbase's intelligent model routing.

What this enables

  • Autonomous coding agent with Antbase model routing
  • File creation, editing, and terminal command execution
  • Multi-step task completion with approval workflow
  • Automatic failover so tasks never stall on a dead provider

Quick Start

1. Install Cline

Install the Cline extension from the VS Code marketplace.

2. Configure the API provider

Open Cline's settings panel (click the Cline icon in the sidebar) and select OpenAI Compatible as the API provider.

Ready to use

Type a task description in the Cline input and let it work autonomously.

Quick fixesant:fastLower cost for simple tasks

Usage Examples

Typical tasks

Describe tasks in natural language and Cline handles the rest:

  • "Add input validation to the signup form and write tests for it"
  • "Refactor the auth module to use JWT instead of session cookies"
  • "Create a REST API endpoint for user preferences with CRUD operations"
  • "Find and fix the memory leak in the WebSocket handler"

Troubleshooting

Cline gets confused or loops

Switch to ant:best for complex tasks. Stronger models follow Cline's tool-use protocol more reliably.

High token usage

Cline sends your project context with each request. Use .clineignore to exclude large files and directories (like node_modules, build outputs).
