Continue Integration
Configure Continue (VS Code / JetBrains AI coding assistant) to use Antbase. Get intelligent model routing for code completions, chat, and inline edits with automatic failover across providers.
What this enables
- AI chat panel for code questions and generation
- Tab autocomplete with Antbase model routing
- Inline code editing with
Cmd+I - Works in VS Code and JetBrains IDEs
Quick Start
1. Install Continue
Install the Continue extension from the VS Code marketplace or JetBrains plugin marketplace.
2. Open the config file
Press Cmd+Shift+P (or Ctrl+Shift+P) and run Continue: Open Config. This opens ~/.continue/config.json.
3. Configure Antbase

Usage Examples
Context providers
Continue supports context providers that inject relevant code into the prompt. Add them alongside your Antbase models:
{
"models": [
{
"title": "Antbase Auto",
"provider": "openai",
"model": "ant:auto",
"apiBase": "https://antbase.ai/v1",
"apiKey": "your-ant-api-key"
}
],
"contextProviders": [
{ "name": "codebase" },
{ "name": "folder" },
{ "name": "terminal" }
]
}Custom slash commands
{
"customCommands": [
{
"name": "review",
"prompt": "Review this code for bugs, security issues, and improvements. Be specific.",
"description": "Code review"
},
{
"name": "test",
"prompt": "Write comprehensive unit tests for the selected code.",
"description": "Generate tests"
}
]
}Virtual Models

Troubleshooting
Tab completions not appearing
Make sure tabAutocompleteModel is configured separately from models. The two arrays serve different features. Also check that tab completion is enabled in Continue settings.
Config changes not taking effect
After editing config.json, reload the VS Code window (Cmd+Shift+P > Reload Window).
